The Dutch Food Safety Authority (NVWA) has set temporary action limits for Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH) in food. Monitoring applies from January 1, 2024, in the Netherlands.
The Dutch action limits have been adjusted from the European limits stated by the SCoPAFF declaration and are as follows:

| Fats, oils, and high-fat or oil-containing foods** | >50% | Yes | 2 |
**NVWA will temporarily not apply the action limits for the category of products « Fats, oils, and high-fat or oil-containing foods. »
What will be the NVWA intervention actions?
The intervention actions will include:
- an official warning,
- administrative fines,
- the recall of affected foods.
Inclusion of MOAH in the HACCP plan
Considering the harmful effects of MOAH on health, the NVWA states that this should be a sufficient reason for companies to include MOAH in their HACCP plan.
