Titanium Dioxide (E171): EU to ban its use as food additive in 2022

The Member States have approved the European Commission’s proposal to withdraw the authorisation to use the Titanium Dioxide (E171) as a food additive from 2022.

In the coming weeks, the Council and the European Parliament will have the possibility to give feedback on the draft Regulation and, if there is no objection, the Regulation is expected to be adopted and published at the beginning of 2022.
