Mérieux NutriSciences is glad to announce that our CosmeticLAB has obtained the accreditation for a list of heavy metals, applying the method “Measurement of traces of heavy metals in cosmetic finished products using ICP/MS technique” – new standard ISO 21392:2021. Heavy metals contamination in cosmetic products is a serious threat as products repeatedly applied directly to the human skin, mucous membranes, hair and nails should be safe for health according to the Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009.
The new feature introduced by ISO 21392:2021 is the method harmonization for the determination of metals -as chromium, cobalt, nickel, arsenic, cadmium, antimony, and lead-, which allows for standardized results among all stakeholders.
With this accreditation, Mérieux NutriSciences wanted to prove the high technical competence of our analysts, who can guarantee reliability in terms of the quality and security of the data provided.
