Conducting audits is a key methodological approach to building a holistic food quality and food safety system. Leading suppliers, manufacturers and distributors conduct regular audits to detect potential risks in the quality system at an early stage. This enables them to ensure the quality and safety of their products. Thus, regular audits are also among the important preventive measures to protect the corporate brand. As well as consumer confidence and satisfaction.

We, the Institut Kirchhoff Berlin, in close cooperation with our Mérieux NutriSciences network, offer comprehensive expert services in the national and international market, such as audits, training, inspections and consultations on food law issues. We support your company in protecting food safety, consumer health and compliance with applicable regulations. Together we establish quality assurance systems at all process levels. This includes the supplier audit, the traceability of processes or the control of good hygiene practices at the site. In the event of a product warning or even a necessary product recall, we act quickly and highly professional with our Silliker® Food Science Center team. We help you and your suppliers to analyze the causes and define the right corrective measures.

We rely on our professional, qualified and dedicated audit staff to plan and conduct audits. They have in-depth knowledge of different food categories, think out of the box and take a proactive approach to provide solutions to any audit-related challenges your company may face. Our efficiency is the result of professional preparation and high technical competence in detecting and dealing with quality issues. We have the ability to work under changing conditions.

In order to adapt to each client’s situation:

  • we develop sector-specific solutions and quality systems that are geared to the particularities of manufacturing companies, trading companies or the catering and hospitality industry
  • we prepare GHP or HACCP concepts for the respective environmental conditions of our customers and create the required documentation
  • we ensure that our employees are always up to date through continuous training.

The most important audit requirements of suppliers, producers, manufacturers and the wholesale and retail trade include:

  • quality assurance at every stage of the value chain, i.e. every process and production stage
  • the adequate support of quality assurance by a qualified institution or third party
  • the certification of food safety by a certified third party
  • the assurance of compliance with important customer-specific and legal requirements
